Our Services
Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetic Foot Care is essential for preventing foot complications caused by diabetes, including nerve damage, poor circulation, slow healing, and infections. Regular professional care helps identify issues early and reduces the risk of ulcers, infections, and serious foot problems.
Our comprehensive approach includes routine foot exams, nail and skin care, ulcer prevention, circulation assessment, and patient education—designed to keep your feet healthy, protected, and pain-free.
Pediatric Foot Care
Pediatric Foot Care focuses on the early diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions in children. Proper foot development is essential for balance, posture, and healthy movement, and early care helps prevent long-term issues as your child grows.
Our pediatric services include evaluation of walking patterns, flat feet, toe walking, heel pain, ingrown nails, and common childhood foot concerns. We provide gentle, child-friendly care to support healthy development and active lifestyles.
Wound Management
Wound management is a multidisciplinary subspecialty that focuses on the healing of wounds. It is a complex science that requires the specialist to identify the etiology of the wound, manage the patient’s comorbidities, reduce the bacterial burden, and ultimately reach the point of healing. There are a variety of reasons why patients may have difficulty healing a wound. We approach wound management with a “team” mentality. Often we will involve other specialties such as infectious disease, vascular surgery and plastic surgery, to participate in the care. While many different specialties can manage wounds, Dr. Slater believes that having a surgical background provides patients with the full scope of opportunity to heal. Wounds should be managed by a practitioner with expertise in this field so that patients have the best opportunity to minimize their risk by obtaining the fastest time to healing.
Dance Medicine
Dance medicine is a multidisciplinary subspecialty focused on physical and mental health for dancers. Dance injuries are more likely to take place in the foot and ankle than anywhere else in the body. One of the greatest benefits of seeing a dance medicine specialist is the ability for the dancer and their provider to be able to communicate in the “language of dance.” This is particularly useful when setting restrictions so that the dancer can still participate without leading to further injury.
Dr. Slater has been practicing ballet since the age of two. She feels it is a privilege to give back to the art form that was so foundational in her life. If you are a dancer interested in making an appointment, let us know when you call to schedule. We are so delighted to participate in keeping you on your feet!

Bunions
Bunions are a common foot deformity where the joint at the base of the big toe becomes enlarged and misaligned, causing pain, swelling, and difficulty wearing shoes. Early treatment can help reduce discomfort and slow progression.
Our bunion care includes thorough evaluation, custom treatment plans, pain relief options, and conservative care such as orthotics and footwear guidance. For severe cases, we also provide surgical consultation and advanced treatment options to restore proper alignment and function.
Hammertoes
Hammertoes occur when one or more toes bend abnormally at the middle joint, causing pain, corns, and difficulty wearing shoes. This condition often develops from muscle imbalance, tight footwear, or underlying foot structure issues.
Our hammertoe care includes accurate evaluation, conservative treatments like padding, custom orthotics, and footwear guidance, and surgical options for more advanced cases. Early treatment helps relieve discomfort and prevent worsening of the deformity.
Foot & Ankle Surgery
Foot & Ankle Surgery provides advanced surgical care for complex foot and ankle conditions that do not respond to conservative treatment. Our surgical approach focuses on restoring function, relieving pain, and improving mobility using the latest techniques and personalized treatment plans.
We treat a wide range of conditions including bunions, hammertoes, fractures, tendon injuries, and chronic joint pain. Each surgical plan is carefully tailored to the patient’s needs, with a strong emphasis on safety, recovery, and long-term outcomes.
Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell therapy is a regenerative technique that is utilized in the foot and ankle to accelerate the healing of damaged tissue. In our field, we utilize donor cells which are generally derived from human placenta or umbilical cord. These cells have incredible potential to change into native tissue. For example, if you perform an injection of stem cells into a damaged tendon, those cells can turn into tenocytes, the cellular component of tendons that help to provide their structure. Sometimes, stem cell therapy can be utilized as an alternative to surgical intervention. Please inquire if you’d like to learn more about this regenerative therapy.
Fat Pad Replacement Injections
The normal anatomy of the ball of the foot features a fat pad which provides a natural cushion to help support our bones. There are a variety of reasons that a patient may experience atrophy of this area, resulting in significant pain with walking. Fat pad replacement therapy utilizes a collagen stimulating injection material to add internal cushion back to the area of concern. It also promotes the body to ramp up its own collagen production at the injection site. This is a very helpful, minimally invasive option for patients looking to avoid surgical intervention and get back to their favorite activities. If you’re interested in fat pad restoration, please call to set up a consultation with Dr. Slater.
PRP
Platelet rich plasma, or “PRP” is a cutting edge regenerative therapy designed to use the body’s own healing potential to recover from injury. After performing a standard blood draw, the sample is placed into a specialized centrifuge machine that separates the layers of the blood. The result is a sample of plasma with a very high concentration of platelets, the component of the blood which has growth factors that help heal damaged tissue. We then administer this “liquid gold” super concentrate into the area of concern. There are many applications for PRP in the foot and ankle. Most commonly, we apply this therapy for torn tendons or ligaments but the indications continue to expand with the growing body of research on the benefit of this treatment option. If you think you may benefit from PRP therapy, please give us a call and schedule an evaluation with Dr. Slater.
Plantar Warts
Plantar warts are small, rough growths that develop on the bottom of the feet due to a viral infection. They can cause discomfort, pain while walking, and pressure on the foot. Early treatment helps prevent spread and reduces pain.
Our plantar wart care includes accurate diagnosis, safe removal options, and preventive guidance to stop recurrence. We use effective treatment methods tailored to each patient’s needs to provide fast relief and long-term results.
Orthotics
Orthotics are devices that are worn inside a shoe to support the foot. While they all provide arch support, custom orthotics can be tailored to the needs of each individual patient. Orthotics can be made from a wide range of materials, each with separate indications. In order to make a precise cast, a thorough physical exam and imaging is recommended. Dr. Slater works with the patient to find an orthotic device that not only supports the patient’s needs functionally, but also is comfortable and practical for long term, everyday use.
Nail Fungus
Nail fungus is a common infection that affects the fingernails or toenails, causing discoloration, thickening, brittleness, and an unhealthy appearance. If left untreated, it can spread to other nails and lead to discomfort, pain, and long-term damage. Early treatment is essential to restore nail health and prevent further infection.
Our nail fungus care includes accurate diagnosis, advanced treatment options, and personalized prevention guidance to reduce the risk of recurrence. We use safe and effective methods tailored to each patient’s needs to deliver lasting results and healthy, clear nails.
